Reward For Info On Murder Increased To 10-Thousand Dollars

A reward has been doubled in hopes of stimulating leads in a one year old unsolved Redding murder case. At about 11:15PM the night of August 17th of last year, 9-1-1 callers reported shots fired at 3032 Bechelli Lane. The building houses Pluto’s Car Stereos and Don’s Sandwich Shop. Officers arrived 15 minutes later and found 67-year-old Edwin Phillips suffering from a gunshot wound. He was taken to Mercy Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. In surveillance footage Phillips can be seen entering the business with an unknown man and then leaving a short time later. The suspect is tall and stocky and he was wearing baggy long shorts and possibly a tank top. Secret Witness has boosted the reward to $10,000 for anonymous tips at scsecretwitness.com or 243-2319.
