The mother of a Redding murder suspect has been arrested. Joshua Ahlberg was murdered on September 21st inside an apartment on Heavenly Oak Lane in east Redding. Officers found evidence at the scene that led them to a home on Willis Street. They followed a car from there and made a traffic stop, arresting two of the suspects. The third suspect was arrested at the Willis Street home after the SWAT team arrived with a search warrant. 20-year-old Brooklyn Hill,19-year-old Isaiah Williams, and 21-year-old Devin Sutton-Wilson were all booked into Shasta County Jail for murder. Investigators say the mother of Brooklyn Hill, 38-year-old Tara Lecznar, has been in contact with Sutton-Wilson, who allegedly asked her to go to the Willis Street home and retrieve a pistol he believed was still there. When Lecznar allegedly went to do the deed she discovered that the gun had already been seized by RPD investigators, who suspect that it was the weapon used in the murder of Ahlberg. Wednesday when Lecznar arrived at the jail to visit her daughter she was arrested. During questioning she reportedly admitted that she had tried to find the gun. She’s been charged as an accessory to murder.
