Details and tidbits of information about the Sherri Papini abduction continue to trickle out of Shasta County Sheriff’s Office. Tuesday the department opened access to surveillance footage recovered from a Yolo County church early last Thanksgiving morning. In the video, a person who is apparently Sherri is seen running by in the darkness. It can be viewed through a link on our Facebook page. The 34-year-old mother of two was gone for 3 weeks after vanishing on November 2nd of last year while jogging near her Mountain Gate home. The investigation and search was intensive, with detectives trying every possible angle. Sherri was released by her captors very early Thanksgiving morning in the Woodland area. She weighed only 87 pounds, her hair was cut short, her nose was broken, she was covered in black and yellow bruises, burns, rashes and chain marks. She also had been branded on her shoulder, though no information has been released about the design of the brand. The motive for the abduction is still unknown, made even more mysterious by the fact that nobody ever sought the substantial reward money. $10,000 is still available for anonymous tips in the case. Two Hispanic females were the only suspects Sherri had contact with. FBI sketches were made available a couple of weeks ago. The case captured nationwide attention with extensive coverage by major networks and publications. Interest apparently hasn’t faded much. Sherri’s abduction is the cover story for last week’s People Magazine.
