Redding Police made more than 100 arrests during a multi-agency sweep on Thursday and Friday. Focusing on what they call “quality of life” crimes, officers targeted trails, parks and business districts. The RPD was assisted by Anderson Police, Sheriff’s Deputies, the District Attorney’s Office, CHP and Redding Fire, with a total of more than 45 members of the team. The sweep began at 5 O’clock Thursday morning and continued for 24 hours. 12 homeless camps were eradicated and 3,640 pounds of trash and other material was disposed of. A total of 106 arrests were made and 41 traffic citations were issued, mostly for pedestrians.
