A young woman from Corning was not wearing her seatbelt before a rollover crash killed her over the weekend just south of Cottonwood. The CHP has not yet released the name of the 26-year-old woman, pending notification of her family. At 11:30 Friday night she was driving northbound on Interstate Five north of Sunset Hills Drive when she drifted to the left. The Mazda 3 went into the dirt center divider and rolled, plunging about 30 feet down and landing in a ditch. The woman was unsecured and suffered fatal injuries. She was pronounced dead at midnight. The CHP says alcohol was not a factor.
