The Shasta County District Attorney’s Office says that 12% of American adults become victims of fraud each year. The key to preventing such rip-offs is to see them coming. That’s what’s behind the D.A.’s Office hosting their 3rd Annual Senior and Veteran Fraud Prevention Fair, which will be held Tuesday. 45 different local, state and federal agencies will be there with key information. Free on-site document shredding will be available and light refreshments will be served. Although the emphasis is on seniors and veterans, everyone is encouraged to attend and it’s all free Tuesday from 10AM to 1PM at the Redding Elks Lodge, located on the river next to Caldwell Park.
