Redding Police averaged more than one DUI arrest per day in 2017, according to figures just released, which show 396 arrests last year. Over 72% of the arrests were men, and a disproportional number of them were between the ages of 20 and 30. The monetary and legal consequences can be quite costly, with $10,000 in fines alone, not counting court and DMV fees and increased insurance rates. The RPD grand champion of drunk and drugged driving arrests is specialist Officer Jacob Provencio, who recently made the 1,500th DUI arrest of his career.
