Teen Arrested After Alleged Sexual Assault & Robbery Of Elderly Woman

A juvenile was arrested by Siskiyou County Sheriff’s Deputies after allegedly breaking into a Dunsmuir and attempting to sexually assault an elderly woman early Thursday morning. Deputies were called at 7:26AM to a home on Butterfly Avenue after the victim reported that a male juvenile and female juvenile broke into her home and stole several items before stealing her car. The victim said that the male attempted to sexually assault her. The elderly woman apparently did not report the incident for several hours because she was traumatized. The suspects allegedly used the woman’s stolen bank card at a local bank to withdraw cash. A description of the suspects and the car were sent to local law enforcement. At about 3:15PM Thursday a deputy spotted the stolen car on Shasta Avenue in Dunsmuir and the two suspects were detained. Stolen items linking the male to the burglary were recovered and he was booked into the Siskiyou County Youth Correctional Facility on attempted murder charges. He was also charged with attempted rape, elder abuse, grand theft, false imprisonment and kidnapping.
