A sobriety checkpoint will be conducted by the CHP Friday night somewhere in the unincorporated area of Shasta County. The California Highway Patrol wants to get the word out prior to the 4th of July that they’ll be vigilant about busting impaired drivers. They’ll have experts trained in the detection of alcohol and drug impairment. The checkpoint will be Friday somewhere in Shasta County outside the city limits of Redding, Anderson, and Shasta Lake. Drivers can make the process quicker by having drivers licenses ready to show to officers.
