We begin day six of the Camp Fire with more horrors. Another six bodies have been found among the ashes, bringing the total number of dead to 48. More homes have been counted among the destruction as well. The deadliest and the most destructive wildfire in California history started last Thursday morning just east of Paradise and spread so rapidly, many people could not escape. 7,600 single family homes have been destroyed, along with 95 multiple family residences- which are apartment buildings and residential hotels. 260 businesses have also burned up. The fire covers 135,000 acres and is 35% contained. More than 5600 personnel are working the fire. 3 firefighters have been injured. The Butte County Sheriff’s Office has posted maps showing the locations of the destroyed homes.
