SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) – California Gov. Jerry predicts Republicans would face disastrous electoral consequences if a federal judge’s ruling to strike down the Affordable Care Act holds. Brown says that if the law signed by former President Barack Obama goes away, Democrats will win the U.S. Senate and the presidency. A Texas judge struck down the law last week but the ruling doesn’t immediately take effect. California is leading a coalition of states in defending the law and the U.S. Supreme Court has previously upheld it. Brown’s comments came Tuesday at an event with the Sacramento Press Club as he prepares to leave office Jan. 7. Brown reflected on his record four terms in office, defended major infrastructure projects and talked about the difficulties of waging a presidential campaign, which he did three times.
