Woman Charged on Botox Case

A local woman is accused of conducting cosmetic medical procedures with no training or license, and a doctor is accused of supplying her with the means to do so. Susan Tancreto apparently told her clients that she was a nurse, which she’s not, and that she worked for Dr. Larry Richard Pyle. She allegedly purchased prescription-only Botox from Dr. Pyle and then administered it at other locations, including a local spa, though the district attorney’s office has not said the name of the spa. It’s illegal for anyone but a medical professional to administer Botox, and that’s only allowed under a doctor’s direct supervision. Dr. Pyle allegedly made no examinations or contacts with Tancreto’s clients, who were apparently under the impression that the Botox treatments were legal, legitimate and safe. The D.A.’s office says Tancreto also did filler injections of silicone, including to a woman who may now require lifelong treatment to her injured lips. A number of other clients also reportedly have suffered permanent facial deformities and severe injuries.Tancreto is also accused of administering Norco, valium and other prescription drugs. She’s charged with mayhem, battery with serious bodily injury, unlicensed practice of medicine, drug sales and dissuading a witness. Dr. Pyle is charged with aiding or abetting. The D.A.’s office is encouraging anyone who has been treated by Tancreto to contact them at 225-5391.
