Following up on the seizure of thousands of marijuana plants last week, the Siskiyou County Sheriff’s Office is continuing its series of early season raids. On Tuesday six search warrants were served in the Mount Shasta Vista area northeast of Weed. A total of 2,324 plants were seized, some of them growing outdoors and some of them in greenhouses. 15 pounds of processed but was also seized. No people were present on any of the properties when the law enforcement team arrived, so no arrests were made. A state task force and National Guard Soldiers assisted. Also on Tuesday the Siskiyou County Board of Supervisors extended their declared local state of emergency that designates marijuana as a major threat to public health.
