An expensive stolen car has been burned to the ground in Corning. Early Thursday morning, Corning Police tried to pull over a Jaguar in the area of Rawson Road and Samson Road. The driver didn’t stop and a pursuit ensued, ending with a crash in the area of 6th Avenue and Corning Road. The three occupants tried to get away, but were caught. The vehicle then caught fire and became completely engulfed. Cal-Fire responded and quickly put the fire out, but the car was a total loss. An investigation found that the jaguar was an unreported stolen vehicle from the Gridley area. 23-year-old Shilo Walker Squires of Gridley, was arrested for felony evading, vehicle theft and violation of parole. He was booked into Tehama County Jail.
