An Oregon man was killed after losing control of a large pickup truck on a Trinity County highway. At 8 O’clock Friday night, 20-year-old Justin Seaman of Eagle Point, Oregon was driving a Ford F-250 southbound on Highway 3 south of Guy Covington Drive. He had four passengers, all 18-to-20-year-old males from Arcata and Eureka. The CHP says he was driving too fast when he approached a curve and he was unable to keep the truck on the pavement and it slammed into a tree. Seaman died of his injuries at the scene. Two passengers suffered major injuries and two others had moderate injuries. They were all flown to Mercy Hospital in Redding. The highway was closed for 6 hours. The CHP says alcohol appears to have been a factor in the driver’s judgement.
