A driver in Corning abandoned a van with a huge load of pot and ran away. Late Friday night corning police pulled over a van for several moving violations on Corning Road near Barham. The driver stopped the van, then got out and fled on foot, leaving the van in drive so it rolled down the road, forcing the officers to let him escape so they could catch up to the van instead. They stopped it right before it struck a power pole. A search of the area was done but the driver was not found. A look inside the van easily explained why the driver ran. It was stuffed with garbage bags containing around 400 pounds of marijuana.
