Redding Residents are normally allowed to burn their downed tree branches and other yard waste starting November 1st. However, this year, the opening date has been delayed due to the lack of rain and frequent high wind events. The decision of when to allow burning in Redding is made jointly by the city fire department and Cal-Fire/Shasta County Fire. With no rain in the near-term forecast, the end of the fire season may be a week or 2 away. Once dooryard burning is allowed, Redding residents will still have a 30-day window for dooryard burning.
