The City of Redding Solid Waste Utility does not want children to be cold this Winter, and for the 18th year, they’re doing something about it. Through December 16th, new and gently used children’s coats, as well as gloves, scarves, sweatshirts, jackets and vests are being collected. New underwear and socks are also needed. The items can be wrapped in waterproof plastic bags, clearly marked “Coats for Kids” and left on top of residential blue recycling bins on regular collection days. They can also be dropped off at the transfer station, city hall or any Redding fire station. All the donations will be given to the Good News Rescue Mission.
