A woman died after a crash in the Gerber area early Tuesday morning. At 5:40AM, 21-year-old Fernando Leon was driving a Honda northbound on County Road 99-W north of Rodeo Avenue when he passed another vehicle and collided head-on with a Ford driven by 36-year-old Jarrod Loyd Flynn, with 37-year-old Tamera Elaine Flynn as a passenger. The CHP says neither of them were wearing seatbelts. Jarrod suffered major injuries including a broken ankle and possible internal injuries. Tamera was taken by helicopter but succumbed to her injuries. Leon suffered major head injuries. Another driver, Bradley Myers, sustained minor injuries when he struck Flynn’s vehicle after the head-on. The CHP does not believe drugs or alcohol were involved.
