Deputies: Probationer On Drugs Arrested In Shasta Lake

A man thought he was lost in the City of Shasta Lake but he was really just on drugs, according to the sheriff’s office. Saturday morning, deputies were going to Nellie Bell Lane to check out a car that was idling but appeared abandoned when another call came in from Montego Road reporting someone yelling for help from a wooded ravine. When deputies got there they heard the yells and found 41-year-old Rusty Michael Toso, who they recognized from frequent previous contacts, including 4 arrests in the Shasta Lake City area in the last 2 months while reportedly on Methamphetamine. When deputies found him in the woods he said he had gone for a hike and couldn’t find his car. It was about a mile away, still idling. Because Toso is on probation, a deputy searched the car and reportedly found 3 Grams of Methamphetamine, Meth pipes and a used syringe. Toso was arrested and his home on Copper Canyon Road was searched, allegedly turning up a sawed-off 12 gauge shotgun.
