Butte County authorities say an Oroville woman with dementia who went missing six days ago has been discovered alive in her snowbound SUV. 68-year-old Paula James was last seen Thursday in Oroville. Just before Noon Wednesday, a Butte County Sheriff’s Office helicopter was searching a remote area near Butte Meadows and spotted a vehicle matching the description of her Toyota 4Runner. It was buried in the snow. The helicopter landed, and two Butte County Sheriff’s employees hiked to the vehicle and found the woman inside, alive. Search and rescue went in with their Snocat to take her to where paramedics were staging. There was no further information on her condition.
