SAN FRANCISCO (AP) – A cruise ship that was expected to dock in San Francisco on Thursday will be kept offshore until 2,500 passengers are tested for the coronavirus. A previous passenger died from the illness. Authorities say several passengers aboard the Grand Princess are showing symptoms that could be coronavirus, a cold or flu. Gov. Gavin Newsom says test kits will be flown to the ship, which can’t dock until results are completed. Authorities say a 71-year-old man who may have contracted the virus on a previous cruise has died in Placer County. Newsom, meanwhile, has declared a statewide emergency over the virus.
