2PM Monday: 35 New Cases Reported Across The North State

Two North State counties reported large increases in the number of COVID-19 cases Monday. Tehama County reported 18 new cases on Monday for a total of 52. Butte County reported 17 new cases for a total of 111. Shasta County has had 31 new COVID-19 cases in week, for a total of 81. 14 were reported on Friday, eleven of whom are associated with a family gathering breakout reported earlier in the week. Sunday’s new case is a woman in her 20’s with symptoms. 4 Shasta County residents have died. 12 people are in isolation, two of them hospitalized. 48 people are quarantined due to possible exposure. The sudden surge has pushed Shasta County into a high risk level 3 alert. Trinity county has had 2. Humboldt County has had 108, with four deaths. There have now been 23 in Siskiyou County, 48 in Del Norte County, 42 in Glenn County and 9 in Lassen County. There are still none reported in Modoc County.

Anyone can get tested for free, whether showing symptoms or not, at a Covid testing station at Shasta College or Red Bluff Community Center or Corning High School. If insurance doesn’t cover the cost, the state will. Appointments must be made at lhi.care/covidtesting. Mobile testing is available in Burney and Fall River, with appointments at 225-5591. Shasta County has reported 9,535 negative test results.
