CHP: Oakland Man With Lengthy Criminal History Arrested After Chase

Siskiyou County authorities have figured out the identity of a man who refused to give his name when he was arrested after leading the CHP on a high speed chase. Sunday afternoon an officer tried to pull over a Ford F-150 that was going over a hundred miles an hour on I-5. The officer chased the truck onto Highway 3 towards Fort Jones, then backed off. The pickup was spotted a short time later near Gazelle and a spike strip was set, flattening all four tires. The driver got out and ran, allowing the truck to keep rolling as the passenger jumped out and surrendered. The truck slowly rolled up an embankment and overturned. The driver was found hiding under some bushes and the CHP says he was obviously impaired. He had a fake I.D. and refused to give his name, but the CHP says they’ve identified him as 37-year-old Richard McDonald, an Oakland man with a very lengthy criminal history including a variety of dangerous felonies.
