Jury Finds Man Guilty Of 21 Counts After 2018 Domestic Violence Incident

A Mountain Gate man has been convicted in a jury trial of numerous domestic violence charges. In August of 2018 Shasta County Sheriff’s Deputies and Redding Police Investigators interviewed a woman at One Safe Place who had been beaten by 36-year-old Robert Earl Brummett. He was taken into custody the next day at his home on Fawndale Road and while they were there deputies found ammunition, which Brummett was not supposed to have because of prior felonies. A search warrant was acquired, leading to the discovery of various types of ammunition and guns, as well as an incendiary device. The sheriff’s office said two of the guns were stolen. Brummett was found guilty Wednesday of 21 counts, including corporal injury to a spouse, assault causing great bodily injury, assault with a firearm, false imprisonment, dissuading a witness, stalking and special enhancements as well. Brummett will be sentenced July 24th.
