Boating Restrictions In Effect On Lake Shasta

Low water levels have prompted some restrictions for boaters on Lake Shasta. There’s a 5 mile per hour speed limit for the entire north end of the Sacramento Arm, upstream from Sugarloaf, as well as much of Jones Valley and the Squaw Creek Arm. There are “no ski” bouys at Salt Creek Inlet, Gooseneck Cove, Dekkas Rock, Chaingang Gulch and Jones Valley Inlet. These restrictions go into effect when the level drops 90 to 100 feet below the high water mark, and are indicated by warning bouys.
