A 32-year-old Chico man has admitted to breaking into post offices 10 times throughout Northern California. Between last August 23rd and March 1st of this year, Jeremy Elguez burglarized post offices in Butte City, Glenn, Vina, Bangor, Stirling City, Meridian, Artois and Cassel. He stole mail, postal money orders, cameras and a check for $80,000. He also tried to cash a check for $350,000 that he had stolen from the mail. After pleading guilty Tuesday to federal charges, Elguez faces a sentence of up to 5 years in prison and a Quarter Million Dollar fine.
