Inspections of power lines will take place Friday by PG&E in order to be ready for public safety power shutoffs. No actual shutoffs are currently planned, but the readiness drill will involve patrolling circuits that would be affected if a shutoff becomes necessary in the next few months. Inspections will be done by helicopters as well as ground crews. In an actual shutoff, power cannot be restored until all the lines are inspected. Friday’s patrols will take place from 8:30AM to 2PM in the Shingletown area, as well as several Butte County communities.
