Only 17 new covid cases have been reported, along with 915 negative tests. The virus has killed 194 Shasta County residents. The total number of cases so far is 11,084. Only 74 people are believed to have the virus right now, 8 of them hospitalized and 1 in intensive care. Shasta County’s daily case rate has dropped from 5.9 to 5 per 100,000 residents.
Tehama County has reported 5,180 cases and 53 deaths.
There have been 380 cases and 5 deaths in Trinity County.
1,842 have been reported in Siskiyou County with 14 deaths.
Butte County has reported 171 deaths among their 10,953 cases.
Lassen County has had 22 deaths among their 2,034 cases in the community and 2 deaths among the 3,597 cases in prison.
Humboldt County has had 3,292 cases and 35 deaths.
Modoc County has had 465 cases and 4 deaths.
More than 37,000 doses of vaccine have been administered by Shasta County Public Health. That number does not include several other vaccine programs such as Redding Rancheria and the Veterans Administration.
Another clinic announced by Redding Rancheria is already full.
Many more people are eligible to receive a vaccine, including food and agriculture workers and people with severe health conditions. Several first dose and second dose vaccination clinics are scheduled. Information is available at shastaready.org under “Vaccinations”.
