The man shot and killed by Redding Police on Tuesday afternoon has been identified by the Shasta County Coroner’s Office as a 26-year-old Redding man. Devin Wyteagle Kuykendall was shot by a Redding Police Officer after leading them on a wild pursuit near Downtown Redding. He shot at pursuing officers from rifle as he ran down several downtown streets. He was shot and killed on Court Street near Grandview Avenue. Kuykendall had previously been arrested by Redding Police in December of 2020 during a traffic stop where drugs and a firearm were found in the vehicle. Police said they are still looking for a woman who ran from the scene of after Kuykendall crashed a stolen pickup on South Market Street prior to the shooting.
