J&J Vaccine Paused In Shasta County, No Deaths Reported On Tuesday

Shasta County reported 31 new Coronavirus cases from Sunday and Monday, along with 299 negative tests. There have been 11,570 confirmed cases so far. The death toll remains at 214. An estimated 101 people have the virus right now, 6 people are hospitalized and nobody in intensive care. The county’s case rate has decreased from 7.4 to 5.8 daily cases per 100,000 residents. If that can be maintained, the county could move from the red to the orange tier of restrictions next week.

Vaccine is free of charge and any Shasta County resident 16 and older is eligible for the Pfizer vaccine. Parents must be present to vaccinate anyone younger than 18.
