Some Evacuations Downgraded To Warnings In Trinity County

The Monument Fire now covers 58,000 acres with just 3% containment. It’s burning on both sides of Highway 299. Multiple communities are threatened and have been ordered evacuated, now including Junction City and Burnt Ranch, as well as Del Loma, Big Bar, Big Flat, Cedar Flat, Canyon Creek, Red Hill, Cooper’s Bar and Helena. More than 500 personnel are on scene.

The McFarland Fire, straddling the Shasta/Trinity County line south of Hayfork is 33,500 acres. Containment has improved to 33%. The evacuation order for Town of Wildwood has been downgraded to a warning, along with warnings for the Trinity Pines and Post Mountain areas, Harrison Gulch Road, the Community of Platina, and both sides of Highway 36 from Sunday Gulch Road to the Shasta/Tehama County line.
