The Governor’s recall election is just a month away, and Shasta County Elections Department has less than half the number of confirmed poll workers that will be needed. The special election was called with just 77 days notice so officials have been scrambling to make arrangements that will allow all polling places to be open. There’s a particular need in Hat Creek, Round Mountain, Burney, Whitmore and Anderson. Poll workers must be at least 16-years-old. A $100 stipend is provided. Information and an application are at shastavotes.org. Every active registered voter will be mailed a ballot and those who wish to vote in person should bring their ballot with them.
