One of Shasta County’s hardest hit industries is on a slow road to recovery. Some job gains were seen in July for leisure and hospitality workers. The overall unemployment rate was unchanged between June and July, remaining at 7%. It’s still a significant improvement from last July’s 10.1%, when there were 2,000 fewer people in the labor force. The unadjusted California rate was 7.9% last month, and it was 5.7% nationwide.
