New Evacuations Issued As The Monument Fire Grows By Nearly 10,000 Acres

More evacuations have been ordered in the Hayfork area for the Monument Fire in Trinity County. The new order expands evacuations to along Hyampom Road from Grassy Flat Road west to St. John Road. An evacuation order was also issued Thursday for areas south of the intersection of Forest Service Road 10 and St. John Road south to Sydney Lane. An evacuation warning has been issued for all of Hayfork. All previous evacuation orders remain in effect. The Monument Fire has grown nearly 10,000 acres and now covers more than 198,800 acres and is 45% contained. 50 structures have been destroyed. 6 firefighters have been injured.

The Knob Fire near Willow Creek is being managed along with the Monument Fire. It’s about 2,420 acres and 92% contained.
