McCash Fire Threatens Somes Bar, Containment Up On Other Klamath Fires

The River Complex in Klamath National Forest is holding at 196,200 acres with 55% containment. Evacuations have been reduced to warnings for some areas but evacuations remain in effect for Callahan, Mosquito Lake and Eagle Creek.

The Antelope Fire east of Mount Shasta is almost defeated, with 95% containment after burning 145,600 acres. Evacuation orders and warnings have all been lifted.

The McCash Fire in a remote area of the Marble Mountain Wilderness in the area of Ten Bear Mountain and McCash Creek has burned 92,600 acres with containment of 22%. Evacuations remain in effect for some areas south of Happy Camp, and east of Highway 96. Fire managers say Somes Bar and Oak Bottom are in danger.
