A Redding man is accused of intentionally and maliciously setting fire to a home Sunday night. Cal-Fire, Shasta County Fire, Redding Fire and law enforcement all responded to a residential structure fire on Schilling Road, which is off Placer Road and Chaparral in the Centerville area west of Redding. A double-wide mobile home was well involved with fire. The value of the damage is estimated at $85,000. Officials learned that just before the fire started there was a disturbance between two residents of the mobile home. One of them, 37-year-old Cody Thomas Mosteller, had left before firefighters got there. The cause of the fire was determined to be arson. Mosteller was later contacted by Cal-Fire Officers and questioned, then booked into jail for arson to an inhabited structure and arson during a state of emergency. Anyone who knows the location of an abandoned Yahama ATV in the area that may be related is asked to contact Cal-Fire at 225-2421.
