A Red Bluff woman killed her mother and then injured her father in a shoot-out, according to the Tehama County Sheriff’s Office. Just before 11 O’clock Monday night a 9-1-1 caller reported a woman screaming at a home on Hilltop Drive, located off McCoy Road on the western side of Red Bluff. A minute later 65-year-old Martin Alan Larsen called and said his daughter, 27-year-old Julia Deanna Larson, had a gun and was not allowing him or his wife to leave the house. While he was talking a gunshot was heard in the background. Deputies, Red Bluff Police and the CHP rushed to the scene and surrounded the house as they heard multiple gunshots from inside. The Sheriff’s Office used their armored vehicle to approach the house as Julia came outside and was taken into custody after a brief struggle. 62-year-old Candace Larsen was found inside, dead from a single gunshot wound. Both Martin and Julia were injured and were hospitalized. When Julia is released from medical care she’ll be charged with murder.
