Northbound Highway 273 between Anderson and Redding was closed for about an hour Monday night after a crash. Just before 6 O’clock a GMC pickup, which may have been stolen, was involved in a single-vehicle non-injury crash near Latona Road. It was partially blocking the slow lane. Right after the crash the driver jumped out and began running across the highway and was struck by a Toyota Tacoma driven by Liz Wellington of Anderson. The victim was transported to Mercy Hospital with major injuries, according to the CHP. He’s listed in critical condition Tuesday morning. His name has not been released but the CHP says he’s a 37-year-old Redding man.
