A home was destroyed by fire in the Shingletown area Tuesday. It was on Glenn Oaks Drive, which is off Black Butte Road a little south of Highway 44. The modified mobile home was about three-quarters involved in flames when Cal-Fire/Shasta County Firefighters arrived on scene. The fire brought down power lines as well. The home was a total loss. The family’s two dogs were missing for a while, but they were found and taken to the nearby animal rescue organization known as “Rain” and kept safe until the family picked them up. The cause of the fire is unknown.
