Two more Covid deaths have been reported for Shasta County. They were a woman in her 50s and a man in his 70s. An additional 475 new cases were reported Thursday, which sets a record for the highest number of cases reported in a single day since the start of the pandemic. Still, the actual number is believed to be higher, partly because of the many unreported home tests. At least 1,308 Shasta County residents are known to have the virus. There are 72 patients hospitalized with Covid and 14 in the ICU. Every home in the country can get four free test kits mailed to them by simply visiting covidtests.gov. Vaccinations are available for free at many locations. A lot of information can be found at shastaready.org.
