A drug bust done last week by the Trinity County Sheriff’s Office got a bit touchy when a bomb was found. Last Wednesday a search warrant was served at the home of 34-year-old Edwin Bruce Heffington just off Main Street in Weaverville near Campora Propane. Investigators reported finding only a small amount of Meth, as well as a sawed-off shotgun, a short-barreled assault rifle, several high capacity magazines and a lot of ammo. A homemade explosive device was also found. The Butte County Bomb Squad responded and rendered the bomb safe. Heffington was booked on several charges.
