A crash has Northbound Interstate five tied up south of Red Bluff. At around 6:05AM a red Nissan sedan, a Chevy truck collided after they encountered debris on the freeway that had fallen from another, unknown vehicle. There are unknown injuries and one person was trapped and in need of extrication. The CHP says the crash is near Gyle Road between Corning and Gerber. A medical helicopter landed to pick up patients and the freeway is clear now.
Another crash is blocking the westbound direction of Highway 299 near Buckhorn Summit and the Trinity County line. A big rig hauling pipes has it’s trailer overturned and its load is scattered all over the highway. That crash occurred on one the blind corners heading up the steep grade. The driver is uninjured.
