Another 106 new Coronavirus cases were reported for Shasta County on Friday. There are 888 known active cases in Shasta County but public health believes the actual number to be much higher, partly because many at-home tests go unreported and many people who are exposed go untested. There are 75 patients in the hospital with Covid and 14 in the ICU.Vaccinations are available for free at many locations. In-home appointments can be made at myturn.ca.gov. A vaccine and booster clinic will take place Tuesday from Noon to 6PM at the Cottonwood Community Center on Gas Point Road, hosted by the Sikh Cultural Center and Shasta County Citizens Advocating Respect. In addition to vaccinations, free testing kits, food and gift cards will be handed out. Many languages will be spoken including English, Hindi, Punjabi, Gujarati,Spanish, Mien and Hmong. Juveniles aged 5 to 17 can get vaccinated but must have a parent or guardian. A lot of information can be found at shastaready.org.
