A man suffered major injuries when he was hit by a car in South Redding Saturday morning. Just after 6AM, a driver called 9-1-1 to report he had struck a pedestrian on Highway 273 at the Bonnyview intersection. The man had been walking eastbound across the highway wearing dark clothing when he was hit by a Dodge sedan driven by a 39-year-old Anderson man, who had tried to swerve but was unable to avoid him. Redding Police do not believe drugs or alcohol were involved. Witnesses are urged to contact the Redding Police Traffic Unit.
