Man Charged With Attempted Murder After Returning To Woman’s Home After January Shooting

An accused stalker wanted for shooting at a teenager was captured after returning to the scene of the crime, according to Redding Police. On the night of January 11th officers were called for a disturbance on Woodhill Drive. A woman said that 35-year-old Tyler Collins had been stalking and threatening her ever since she broke up with him in early December. She said she encountered Collins in front of her home and screamed. Collins then took off running and her son, hearing the scream, came out and chased Collins on foot, with Collins allegedly firing a handgun toward the 16-year-old’s head from about 10 feet away. Collins and another man then reportedly fled in a pickup truck. Collins has a long history of violent crimes and is currently on parole. At 1:30AM Monday morning the same woman called 9-1-1 screaming that Collins was at her home. Officers caught Collins as he was trying to flee out the back door. A shotgun was found that police believe Collins had carried with him to the home. He was booked on charges including attempted murder.
