A man arrested for the alleged robbery of a Redding bank has confessed to an attempted bank robbery that police did not even know about. On January 19th the Sierra Central Credit Union on Bechelli Lane was robbed by a man who got away after demanding cash from a teller. Redding Police detectives linked the suspect to a bank heist in Central Point, Oregon on January 11th and another in Yuba City on January 20th. 52-year-old Thomas James West, who has a lengthy criminal history in Oregon and Washington was tracked to Las Vegas so RPD detectives contacted police there and west was found and taken into custody. Detectives flew to Las Vegas on Monday and took custody of West. Once back in Redding, West was further questioned and apparently confessed to four robberies. He’s being held on a Half Million Dollars bail.
