A Yreka family faces several charges after a violent encounter in Anderson. At 7:30AM Saturday morning Anderson Police were called to the Motel 6. The Bolkan family, consisting of 60-year-old Stacey, 42-year-old Jolene and 18-year-old Lybrity, were allegedly staying at the motel trying to sell pot. Two other Bolkans, ages 12 and 17, were also there. Police say Lybrity and Stacey brought a 15-year-old Redding boy to the room to make a purchase, but once inside he grabbed the pot and made a run for the door. When the Bolkans tried to keep him from escaping, he reportedly struck two of the women in their heads with an axe before one of the Bolkans pulled put a pistol. There was a struggle for the gun and a shot was fired into a mattress, but the Bolkans disarmed the teen and called 9-1-1. The boy was booked into Juvenile Hall on robbery and assault charges, and he may be charged with attempted murder. Lybrity was charged with child abuse causing great bodily injury, conspiracy, and marijuana sales to a minor. Jolene and Stacy were booked on the same charges after being treated for their injuries. The two underage Bolkans were taken by county child services.
