Just as new Coronavirus cases have been on the decline comes a reminder of how deadly the virus can be, as another 14 fatalities were confirmed in Shasta County over the weekend. 29 new cases were reported for a confirmed total of 115, though the actual number in the community is still believed to be much higher. There are 19 Covid patients in the hospital, 2 of them in intensive care. Testing is encouraged because if Covid is detected in the first few days, treatments are available that can defeat the virus early.
