A police K9 was barely fazed when he was punched by a burglary suspect early Sunday morning. At 3:23AM Redding Police responded for a burglary in progress at California Custom Trailers and Power Sports on Twin View Boulevard. Duke the K9 reportedly found 53-year-old Daniel Henry Spliethof inside the fenced yard. When officers tried to arrest him he resisted so Duke went after him. Despite being punched in the head, Duke was uninjured and Spliethof was booked for burglary, resisting arrest and hitting a police dog.
